ABC Seeking Board of Directors Nominations

ANKENY, Iowa - (May 14, 2013) The Association of Boards of Certification (ABC) Board of Directors needs you! Take this opportunity to help lead the association dedicated to advancing the quality and integrity of environmental certification programs and the industry as a whole. ABC Board of Directors is currently seeking leaders with a passion for the profession and desire to advance the industry. ABC Nominating Committee is currently seeking nominations for the following 2014 Board of Directors positions:

 

Vice President (Four year commitment) This is an Association Officer position that progresses to President-Elect, President, and Immediate Past-President. Any representative of a Regulatory Program Member is eligible for nomination. Qualifications to serve as an ABC Officer require a minimum of two years of service as an ABC committee and/or task force member at the time the nominee assumes office on January 1, 2014. Water Division Director (Two year term January 1, 2014-December 31, 2015) The Water Division Director represents the Association to members assigned to them within their respective Division. Any representative of a Regulatory Program Member of a Division shall be eligible for nominations as Water Division Director. For additional information, download the Water Division Director Duties.

At-Large Division Director (Two year term January 1, 2014-December 31, 2015) The At-Large Division Director represents the Association to members assigned to them within their respective Division. Any representative of a Regulatory Program Member of a Division shall be eligible for nominations as At-Large Division Director. Each member of ABC Board of Directors is required to provide a signed "Disclosure Statement and Acknowledgement" to disclose a potential conflict of interest.

ABC Nominating Committee will review and evaluate all nomination applications. Election ballots will then be sent to all Regulatory Program and Voluntary Program Members by August 23, 2013. Election results will be posted following the vote count at the October 5, 2013 Board of Directors meeting, with each candidate receiving personal notification. All persons elected to these positions will assume office on January 1, 2014.

Travel to three Board of Directors meeting per year is required: one in January in conjunction with ABC Annual Conference, one in the spring, or summer and one in the fall. All expenses related to serving on the Board will be covered by ABC. All nominations must be in writing and submitted on the nomination form. The deadline for forms is to be mailed or faxed and received at the ABC office by 5 p.m. on June 14, 2013.
