ABC Seeking Nominations for Board Positions
ABC has opened the call for Certification Program Member representatives to fill open positions on the ABC Board of Directors charged with the general supervision and strategic direction of the Association. There are two open positions: Vice Chair and Wastewater Division Director.
“I strongly encourage all of my colleagues to either apply themselves or nominate a fellow professional to serve on the ABC Board,” said Ray Olson, PO, ABC Immediate Past-Chair 2016. “This is my final year serving as a director on the ABC Board. I can honestly say my time was well invested, and I’m a much stronger leader having served on the Board. I’m thankful to be able to give back to the community, by serving ABC and helping to lead our profession forward.”
Board service requires travel to up to three meetings annually, including one held each January in conjunction with Innovation in Certification – ABC’s Annual Conference and Trainers Workshop. Interested parties should review the specific terms of service, qualifications, and duties of the Vice Chair and the Wastewater Division Director.
Nominations and inquiries should be directed to ABC’s Chief Executive Officer, Paul Bishop, CAE at firstname.lastname@example.org. Nominations must include the completed Nomination Form and be received no later than August 31, 2016.
There are many benefits of serving as a volunteer leader, including:
- Playing a significant role in advancing the industry;
- Having an opportunity to enhance the value of ABC to the water environment community;
- Accessing up-to-date information about the challenges facing the industry; and
- Exchanging ideas and perspectives with other volunteer leaders.
ABC values and seeks diverse leadership as defined by race, ethnicity, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, nationality, disability, appearance, geographic location, professional level, etc. The Association seeks leaders from all types and sizes of eligible member organizations.
